Cost and Insurance
If you would like to use your insurance to cover part of your costs, you will need to provide me with the necessary information about your insurance plan, copay, pre-authorization requirements, and the number of mental health visits allowed per benefit period. It is your responsibility to clarify your mental health benefits by calling your insurance carrier or reviewing your benefit booklet before your first appointment. Please be aware that some insurance plans have a different carrier for mental health benefits. This is usually noted on the back of your insurance card along with a customer service phone number.
For in-network services:
Dr. Frauke Schaefer is an in-network provider with the following insurance plans:
- Aetna
- BCBS (excluding Blue Value or Blue Local plans)
- Cigna
- United Healthcare
For out-of-network services:
Payment for out-of-network services is due in full at the time of service. If requested, I will provide you with a statement, which you can submit to your insurance. Insurers will reimburse you directly within several weeks after your appointment.
Out-of-network rates are within the typical range of current local provider rates.
In compliance with the NoSurprises Act I will be glad to provide you with a Good Faith Estimate prior to out first meeting, after a conversation by phone. Here some details about Good Faith estimates and your rights.
